Following on from our other FAQ Blogs, on our hair restoration and replacement treatments, we felt it was only fair to do a Q&A with MHR Belfast Expert (Eamonn) on our Hair Fusion service.

What is Hair Fusion?

Hair Fusion is a hair replacement treatment option for those with medium to severe hair loss.

A bespoke, made to order, real human hair fusion piece is attached to the scalp to give the appearance of a full head of hair. Hair can be cut, coloured and styled in anyway that the client prefers, by our fully qualifed hair loss stylist.

Can Hair Fusion be used for bald patches?

Yes, absolutely. It can be for the whole scalp or for only areas of the scalp, depending on the stage or type of hair loss.

This option works very well for alopecia clients, those suffering with male pattern baldness or hereditary or medical hair loss.

Does Hair Fusion hurt?

Nope, not at all. It is non surgical and so is pain free. The refusion process is done by our trained Experts, so this shouldn’t hurt at all.

Is Hair Fusion detectable to others?

No, the whole point of how we cut and style Hair Fusion is that it can’t be noticed, it is very natural. In fact, we are aware of a good few high profile celebrities that have it done and people are none the wiser!

Is Hair Fusion a wig?

A very common presumption but the answer is no. The distinct difference is a wig can be removed at any time and many wigs are not always made with real human hair.

Hair Fusion is 100% real human hair and it has to be removed by our Experts in the salon once a month (refusion appointment).

Is Hair Fusion only for men?

Not at all, we have a mix of male and female clients who opt for Hair Fusion.

Is it easy to wash and style Hair Fusion at home?

Yes, it is like having your own hair back. You can wash, shampoo, blowdry, gel, wax, hairspray, straighten, curl and colour your hair whatever way you want, as it is 100% real human hair.

Those who opt for longer hair options can even put their hair in a bobble or clip.

Please note, any clients wanting to have their hair fusion coloured must complete an initial patch test.

Will my Hair Fusion appointment be in a salon with lots of people?

No, we have a strict one client per appointment in the hair fusion salon, as confidentiality and privacy are of upmost importance for us for our clients.

We also have a private entrance for Hair Fusion clients, in case they don't want to come into the main office and waiting room with other MHR Belfast clients.

Is Hair Fusion comfortable and does it look natural?

Yes and Yes. Clients say it really is just like having their own hair back.

Will my Hair Fusion ever just fall off?

This is one for the most common questions and we can assure you the answer is no. It wont just fall off or be whipped away by a strong gust of wind or be pulled off my a child or dog.

We use strong bonding adhesives that ensure this can't happen. Hair Fusion requires a specialist process to remove it and can only be completed by our Experts.

We recommend attending a refusion appointment every 4 to 6 weeks for hygiene and maintenance purposes.
